Vedic astrology lesson: The Bends
The lunar nodes called Rahu and Ketu in Vedic astrology indicate major
astrological events of a fated nature. Rahu and Ketu are the points in space
where the Moon crosses the ecliptic the apparent path of the Sun. These two
points are exactly opposite each other where the Moon crosses the ecliptic.
There is a ascending point Rahu and a descending point Ketu. When planets
come to the midpoint of the opposing nodes it will trigger major events.
This is called ³the bends². Vedic astrologers note this point as a trigger
point. These events are flavored by the meanings of the planets involved.
Currently in the heavens outer planet Neptune is at the midpoint of Rahu and
Ketu. Neptune is the planet that rules secrets, and denial. During this time
many repressed and hidden secrets will be revealed at this time. Also
Neptune as the god of the oceans and seas rules the forces of mother nature
which indicates there will be the onset of many natural catastrophes.
This can occur with the planets as they transit in the heavens or they can
apply to natal planets in an individual¹s birth chart. We use birth charts
for countries as well.
At the time of the devastating earthquake that occurred March 11th 2011 in
Japan transiting Mars was at the natal midpoint of transiting Rahu and Ketu.
Mars pertains to sudden strikes of terror and warlike effects causing
destruction. This was a key indicator in my prediction of this massive
earthquake using the birth chart for Japan.
